Welcome!

You are cordially invited to participate in the Eighth Asia-Pacific Conference on Computer Human Interaction (APCHI 2008) to be held in Seoul from July 6th to 9th, 2008. The APCHI series, which can be traced to Singapore(1996, 2000), Australia(1997), Japan(1998), China(2002), New Zealand(2004) and Taiwan(2006) has established a solid tradition of providing a major forum for the scholars and practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region on the latest developments in HCI.

To address the challenge for socially blending wider spectrum of users and ubiquitous computing environment, APCHI 2008 sets “Universal & Ubiquitous” as the conference theme. By sharing and disseminating the experiences of scholars and practitioners from around the Asia-Pacific region and with expertise in HCI-related disciplines, APCHI 2008 is ready to provide not only a prime opportunity for diverse state-of-the-art approaches to general HCI issues, but also a forum where your contributions would make users in the upcoming ubiquitous and pervasive environment happier with higher standards of quality of life.

APCHI 2008 would include a highly selective dual-track program for technical papers accompanied by late-breaking result posters, demonstrations, panel discussions, and invited tutorials. Accepted technical papers will be presented at the conference and will appear in the conference proceedings. Authors of the best papers will be invited to submit extended versions to a special issue of International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction by Taylor & Francis which is going to be published in mid-2009. The APCHI2008 conference proceedings, comprising the papers that are presented at the conference, would be published in a Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) volume by Springer.

The conference venue is located in the heart of traditional Seoul. Although Seoul is a powerhouse of Asia's busy economy, the capital well preserves Korean history of last six hundred years. The venue area is a perfect place for the visitors to feel the culture and future at the same time and space. We also welcome participants' guests.
